Our modern world keeps reminding us that if we are not “producing”, we are idle, lazy or worse, we run the risk of being ineffective, futile.
Harsh words, especially when other aspects of our life take over.
The algorithms that drive our existence keep barraging us “content creators” to produce for others to consume.
Yet, not everything needs to be in the public domain.
It is often during these times of inner reflection that clarity and deeper insight can be gained. It is here that the “seeds” for the next stage are sorted and decided upon, awaiting to be sown.
As we approach the time of the solstice, how will you take advantage of the sacred pause?
Here, south of the equator, we are approaching the winter solstice, the time which offers a double approach ~ to look back over the previous solar year to reflect on what has been achieved and what needs to be released, as well as a time to consider what direction you would like to head in as you step into the new solar cycle.
This is indeed a sacred portal, much like that silence space between the exhalation and inhalation, between the dark and new moons of the lunar cycle ~ only with the cycles of the sun, our focus has shifted towards something longer, more foundational in our lives.
For the last week I have been in a process of reflection, allowing thoughts, memories and even emotions from the past to rise up and be acknowledged. A process of clearing in readiness for when I begin to apply more focus onto what I would like to see birth with that of the sun.
Some people may do this at the start of January, the calendar year. I prefer to work with the seasonal round, aligning myself with the natural ebbing and flowing energetics.
Contrary of what we have been told, it is often through these periods of rest that “inner productivity” is at its peak.
As I write these words, I am reminded of what is about to happen in the skies above us after the solstice, when Jupiter moves from Cancer (where it has been for the last year) into Leo.
Jupiter is the planet of expansion and while it has been in Cancer, the zodiacal sign that symbolises deep emotion, intuition, and empathy, and which is ruled by the moon, it has been quietly expanding your inner world and building things that no one has seen yet. You have been undergoing “inner productivity”, even if you have not been aware of this.
However, at the end of this month, when Jupiter transitions into Leo, things will shift. Leo is the spotlight loving extrovert of the zodiac, and as such, what has been private and protected will move into being more public and visible for all.
People will be able to see what you have “built”.
So, what have you built? Consciously as well as unconsciously?
My video about the upcoming new moon, which also mentions Jupiter moving into Leo, can be found here
